Policy:
If you wish to sit in the public gallery, it is much more straightforward! Any time either the House of Commons or the House of Lords is in session, the public are allowed to access the building. Sitting times vary, according to the business of the house but a rough guide can be found at: www.Parliament.uk. Occasionally the gallery may be busy and waiting times may be high. However, when you are in the queue, you will be inside the Palace of Westminster and will have access to brochures and leaflets as well as being in contact with helpful ‘visitor assistants’ who work throughout the building. The public is also welcome to attend any committee meetings within the Palace.
