If you're looking for sex, drugs and/or rock 'n' roll, you'll find all you need for a lost weekend in Amsterdam without much preparation. The Red Light District (known locally as De Wallen), sited in an approximate triangle formed by Central Station, Nieuwmarkt and the Dam, is at the very root of the city's international notoriety. It's currently undergoing a 'clean up', however. The city authorities are seeking to halve the number of prostitutes and marijuana-touting coffeeshops in the hopes of attracting a classier line-up of conventional cafés, shops and restaurants – and tourists. Culture, in all its forms, is deemed to be the answer. Hence a glut of hipster insurgents, like De TonTon Club
The TonTon Club, a game cafe in the middle of Amsterdam’s Red Light District.
Alright, this is a truly unique place in the Red Light District. It’s like the dream for every man… Sipping beers, playing video games, having some snacks or hot dogs and being surrounded by beautiful women in the Red Light District. It couldn’t get much better then this, really.
The TonTon Club was founded in March 2013, so the place is quite new and more importantly: undiscovered.
That’s right, not that many people know that there is an awesome game cafe in the heart of the Red Light District. Which is something positive, because it’s never too crowded and you don’t have wait too long for others to finish a game. Besides, there are so many cool games in this place, you will always be entertained.
